KIRKLAND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GrapeCity today announced that it is joining the Microsoft-sponsored BioIT Alliance, which is dedicated to leveraging information technology to speed the introduction of new, personalized forms of medicine. GrapeCity, a long-time Microsoft Partner, will apply its core strengths in Microsoft Office and .NET technologies to provide the Alliance with unique solutions for regulatory-compliant information authoring and management -- solutions that will enable users to work with familiar Microsoft Office products, such as Word, rather than having to learn XML or specialized authoring tools.

Commenting on GrapeCity’s participation in the Alliance, Sanjeev Jagtap, GrapeCity Director of Product Management, said, "To maintain a healthy drug pipeline, pharmaceutical companies need a robust drug discovery and development process that’s also easy to work with. GrapeCity has already developed FDA-compliant XML Structured Product Labeling solutions that are integrated with Microsoft Office, making them easy to use and to support. We are committed to replicating this success in other phases of the drug development life cycle."

“We are very pleased to have GrapeCity join the BioIT Alliance,” added Don Rule, Microsoft’s platform strategy advisor and BioIT Alliance director. “Their expertise in regulatory compliance technology will help our members more easily turn the data they generate today into pharmaceutical products for tomorrow.”
